International Young Mathematicians Convention – 2008

Abhyasa is going global with its achievements at International Young Mathematicians Convention, 2008 (IYMC) organized by City Montessori Intermediate College at Lucknow from 2nd to 5th December. IYMC provides an opportunity to the students from the world over to meet each other, interact and improve upon their abilities in the field of Mathematics and showcase their talents.

A team of 6 Abhyasa students took part in the convention. The team participated in all the events to bring home victories in various events.

Both the Senior and the Junior teams won the silver medal each for the Maths Model Presentation in Maths Fair at IYMC.

Academic Achievements 2003-2004

  1. Abhyasa was one of the chosen 20, among prestigious schools in our country to be bestowed a
    'National Award' by the Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Kanchipuram.
    1. Out of 680 schools which participated in a conference, Abhyasa was chosen for its 'Creative techniques in classroom teaching.'
    2. National Centre for Research and Development in Education Science and Technology, with eminent educationists has invited Abhyasa to participate in the society's programmes all over the country – to propagate effective, creative and new methods of teaching at the school level, to enable the children all over to succeed in their learning process. Out of the chosen 20, Abhyasa is the only school to be invited for the society's programmes, all over the Country.
  2. Introduction of ISC – Class XI
    Abhyasa joined the ISC fold with the commencement of class XI students – choosing the following optional groups – Math, Biology, Physics, Chemistry; Biology, Physics & Chemistry with Bio-technology and Commerce, Accounts and Economics.
  3. At ICSE March 2003, conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi – Abhyasa secured 100 % first classes with 70 % distinctions.
  4. Science Quiz: Abhyasa's exhibit showcasing the importance of bio-technology and information technology was;
    1. Awarded the First position for best exhibit in Satyamotsav – in which almost 20 top schools from all over South India participated.
    2. Awarded the Second best position in the category of Information Technology – The District Science Fair, organized by the Department of Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh at the Medak town, in which more than 600 schools from all over the district partipated.
  5. Abhyasa bagged the Second Position for its creative power point presentation organized by IL & FS Education & Technology Services Ltd, integrating the use of Technology and multimedia with participation from 45 schools across the city. Abhyasa's presentation entitled 'Living on Mars', included imaginary and creative illustration of life on the Planet Mars.
