National Green Corps - Ambassadors of the Environment:

Our Abhyasa NGC Eco-club has green soldiers from class VIII onwards with teams comprising of:

  1. Biodiversity team
  2. Water management team
  3. Beautification team
  4. Energy management team
  5. Land-use management team

NGC Eco-club has taken water conservation awareness programmes in school community level through skits, puppet shows, debates, quiz etc. Recycling of water, news paper with a purpose was a major project undertaken by Eco-club. Little soldiers made. Abhyasa's Eco-club activities are selected by Andhra Pradesh NGC, as a representative of the state. The success story of Abhyasa Eco-club was broadcasted by National Radio-Delhi. Now our little soldiers are bent on making Abhyasa school campus as '0- Waste Campus' by segregating and recycling the waste by composite pit.

Rotary Internationals' Student Interact Club:

Interact Club of the Rotary International is a Service Club for youth between ages 14 to 18 years. Interact clubs are self-governing and self-supporting bodies. Interacts' name is a combination of the words International and Action. Interact's Global Youth network and is dedicated to Community and International service. The Interact Club at Abhyasa is formed on 20th September, 2008 with its club ID – 15570 under District 3150 of Rotary Club Hyderabad – North with 99 founding members.

Accommodating Differently Abled Children:

Abhyasa students also interact with the Differently Abled Children from various institutions, by inviting them to the Abhyasa Campus where they participate in different cultural programmes.

Visit to Old Age Homes:

The Old Age Homes are the places where Abhyasa children eagerly wait to visit. The inmates of the Homes and the Students enjoy the interaction. The students distribute food and present cultural programmes for the inmate whom they consider as their Grand Parents.

Youth Assembly of Hyderabad:

To celebrate its Motto 'Celebrating Service' the school gloriously organised 'The First Youth Assembly of Hyderabad' to sensitise youth to values such as social service and social entrepreneurship on the lines of "The Youth Assembly at the United Nations" held at the United Nation (New York) once in 2 years. The first of its kind of Youth Assembly in Hyderabad was inaugurated by Mrs. Geetha Reddy, Honorable Minister of Major Industries, Government of Andhra Pradesh and was attended by 400 youth and addressed by many luminaries. The idea of this Youth Assembly came into existence when Abhyasa student M.R.S.K. Chaitanya won the UN Award for social service in 2006. This year also 10 students of the school attended Global Young Leaders conference at Washington DC and New York in which students from 100 countries participated and have been invited to attend the Swearing-in Ceremony of the US President-elect Mr. Barak Obama .

Self Reliance:

Students maintain vegetable gardens, do plumbing, carpentry and cook food in the kitchen, clean up the campus and assemble audio-visual systems for school programmes – to promote dignity of labour and value different work areas of life, apart from gaining insights into self-help and survival skills.

Soft Skills Development:

Under this programme Abhyasa works for the over all development of the Children by imparting Soft Skills such as Communication, Decision Making, Time Management etc.

Finishing School:

This is an event conducted indicating the end of the training, both academic and co-curricular for students of Class X and XII at Abhyasa. The Progamme consists of Marching of all the students with the dignitaries to the dias, speeches by different students, an Oath reiterating to keep up and maintaining all that they have learnt at Abhyasa etc. The Programme ends with a Farewell Dinner.
